United Way Food Drive to Help Southwest Illinois Residents Facing Hunger

ST. LOUIS (May 10, 2021) — United Way of Greater St. Louis’ Illinois Division will host a food drive beginning May 10 and running through June 1 to help local people facing food insecurity. The food drive is aimed at supporting food pantries in St. Clair, Clinton, Monroe and Randolph counties so they can continue serving local people facing economic challenges due to the COVID-19 crisis.

“On top of the challenges stemming from COVID-19, the summer months may cause additional strains for families who rely on school meals during the academic year,” said David Paeth, auxiliary board chair for the Illinois Division of United Way of Greater St. Louis. “With our community’s support, we can help local food pantries as they face high demand, and help ease the burden that children and families may feel during this challenging time.”
