The St. Louis region and surrounding areas have been impacted by unforeseen circumstances and the fallout from them has left many people wondering what to do or who to seek for help. Whether it’s the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 crisis or the recent devastation caused by severe weather, United Way is committed to helping our local communities and you can join us.
Here are 3 ways your generosity can make an immediate difference this week.
Volunteer for COVID relief efforts
On Saturday, December 18th, United Way is partnering with the City of St. Louis Department of Human Services and the St. Louis Treasurer’s office to host a Direct COVID Relief Assistance Program event.
The event will help people with disabilities, seniors and those without internet access complete an application for assistance through a City of St. Louis COVID relief program. There is an immediate need for volunteers to help throughout the day with greeting, process intake, and room attendants. Sign up to volunteer today.
Support local families impacted by severe weather
Last week, severe weather ravaged parts of the Midwest, impacting some of our own neighbors and communities. Consider making a donation to United Way’s Disaster Recovery Fund to support these local families through the long-term recovery process.
Fundraise for 100 Neediest Cases
A great way to support the 100 Neediest Cases program is by setting up a fundraising page, either for an adopted family or to support the general program. Follow these simple steps to increase your reach and impact.
As always, 100% of the money you raise will go directly to local families in need this holiday season. Once you’ve created your fundraising page, share the link on your social media and let your friends and family know how they can make a difference too!
Time and again, we’ve seen how our community unites together to help one another. We’re proud to be a part of this region and thank you for all you do to help others.
