We are currently seeking an Events and Relationship Specialist whose position is a two-fold role within the Major Giving department; working to plan and execute events, and manage the growing young professional affinity group United Young Leaders.

 

General Responsibilities:
The successful individual will coordinate event support, planning, management, execution, and success measurement for organizational events, often focused on fundraising and donor/volunteer engagement. This person will be responsible for a number of logistical factors including venue, seating, food & beverage, entertainment, photography, processing invoices and vendor payments, and collaborating with the department on event promotion. The Specialist will attend all fundraising and donor engagement events, serving as registration point person and providing other day-of event support. Also manages vendor relationships, assist guests, and solve immediate issues.

 

Growing and maintaining a portfolio of nearly 1,500 United Young Leaders (UYL) is a significant component of this role, including recruiting and managing cabinet/committee volunteers to build and implement an engagement and solicitation strategy for maintenance and growth and achieving membership and revenue goals by generating a pipeline of individual donors and prospects and executing a plan to grow donors. Works with internal teams and volunteers to build experiences and programming that appeal to United Young Leaders, creating a strong, desirable membership experience.

 

Tracks metrics, supports volunteers with timeline/schedule management, meeting coordination & leadership, and prepares supplemental materials (data/reports, talking points, scripts, agendas, etc.) Navigates and maintains an accurate database/CRM tool. Tasks include data entry & mining, communication tracking, and constituent profile management.

 

Skills and abilities: If you have a background in event and relationship management and an understanding of event processes and success metrics, we’d like to talk to you! Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years’ relevant experience with both event and relationship management OR five years of equivalent experience in job-related area is preferred, along with strong project and time management, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/events at the same time. Experience in forward-facing roles helpful, as this role works with volunteers, donors, and other stakeholders.
