We each have the opportunity to leave a positive impact on the world. Whether it’s personal impact – an act of kindness, a helping hand — or the kind of broad impact United Way of Greater St. Louis has on the community – far-reaching and ever present.
After 100 years in the community, United Way’s impact is almost impossible to measure. Since the beginning, this organization has thrived because of volunteers, supporters and community. Thanks to 100 years of dedication and generosity, we have raised and invested nearly $3 billion – an incredible accomplishment for everyone in this community. And, more importantly, we’ve impacted millions upon millions of lives.
When we began in 1922 as the Community Fund, it was because a group of people came together to support their neighbors. And while our name has changed, we’ve expanded our reach, and how we serve people has evolved over the years, our mission has always remained the same – mobilizing the community with one goal in mind: helping people live their best possible lives.
Our work is not done. As we look to the future, United Way is even more committed to helping people through our deep experience and strong partnerships to create a stronger, healthier and more equitable St. Louis for all.
Thank you for walking alongside on this journey.
Michelle Tucker, president and CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis
